Eve Blasts Jermaine Dupri, Sides With Cardi B — “Women Can Rap About What They Want”

Published

It’s been a few days since Jermaine Dupri put his foot in his mouth and had this to say about female rappers during an interview with People:

“I feel like they all are rapping about the same thing, and I don’t think they’re showing us who’s the best rapper. For me, it’s like strippers rapping. As far as rap goes, I’m not getting who is the best rapper. I’m getting OK, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club, you got a story about you dancing in the club. OK. All right. Cool. Who’s going to be the rapper?… At some point, somebody’s going to have to break out of that mold and talk about other things.”

As you can imagine, JD got roasted … and rightly so! Cardi B was practically first in line to get the So So Def producer allll the way together.

But, Cardi wasn’t the only one feeling that way. Rapper Eve co-signed her sentiments as well. HH caught up with the Pitbull in a Skirt at the world premiere of “Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw” at the Dolby theatre on Saturday in Hollywood. During our chat, she made it known that women shouldn’t be judged for what kind of music they choose to put out because it’s THEIR CHOICE!

It seems as though Dupri heard the criticism loud and clear. He’s now attempting to right his wrong with a female cypher — you care?
