Colin Kaepernick is still repping hard for the culture and calling out injustices wherever he may see them — even in a pair of sneakers!
The NFL Freedom Fighter has moved on from his differences with the league, to a dispute with Nike over their Betsy Ross Flag “Air Max 1 USA”. The former Footballer expressed concern over the shoe design, Nike agreed and promptly pulled the shoe from the limited amount of shelves it did make it to.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the “Air Max 1 USA” featured an early version of the American flag with 13 white stars in a circle on the heel, which drew the ire of the former 49ers star. In recent years, the flag has become politicized, being co-opted by some white supremacist groups.
Kaepernick became the face of Nike’s “Dream Crazy” campaign last year which helped the company boost sales 31% … and it looks like he’s still helping them not completely tarnish their image. Kudos Kaep!
