Oprah Winfrey Considering Bringing Back Her Talk Show

Could the queen of TV be returning to reclaim her throne?

According to ET Canada Oprah Winfrey is strongly considering a return to the talk show format that built her into a global media icon.

It’s been more than eight years since the final episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show aired, and she confessed that she has thought about a reboot.

“I would love to make that happen, let me tell you. But maybe not every day,” Winfrey confided. “For 25 years, it was perfect.”

The 65-year-old TV mogul added, “The only time I missed it was during the election or when something really big happens in the news. I think, ‘Oh, gee, I wish I had a show.'”

The former “60 Minutes” correspondent has conducted interviews on her eponymous network through recent years — most recently, a controversial interview with Michael Jackson accusers and the Central Park 5.

She also is seen on the weekly “Super Soul Sunday” block of programming on the network, which focuses on spirituality, the afterlife and personal empowerment.

Winfrey was in Toronto, Canada, promoting her new book, The Path Made Clear: Discovering Your Life’s Direction and Purpose, and recalled one of her first “aha” moments.

“My path became clear the moment, I remember it actually, when I flew into Chicago,” she shared. “I thought, ‘If the show isn’t successful, then I’m going to go into advertising.'”

We’re sure she would have been the queen of advertising had that been her path. In the meantime, all of the proceeds from the best-selling book will go to the Boys and Girls Club of Attala County, Miss., where Winfrey was raised.
