Cuba Gooding Jr. Turns Himself In, Proclaims His Innocence Following Groping Allegations

Cuba Gooding  Jr’s hard-partying days are over … at least for now.

On Thursday the Jerry Maguire actor was arrested and charged with forcible touching after a woman accused him of groping her at a New York City night spot.

Gooding, 51, was charged after turning himself in to investigators in the New York Police Department’s special victims division. He remained in police custody and was expected to be arraigned later in the day.

Gooding’s lawyer, Mark Heller, said security video from Magic Hour Rooftop Bar & Lounge showed no criminality on his part and will exonerate him.

“There is not the slightest scintilla of inappropriate conduct on his part,” Heller said.

On Tuesday night TMZ camera’s caught Gooding Jr in Los Angeles where he insisted he is “absolutely not” guilty.

“I trust the system,” he added “There’s a tape that shows what really happened — that’s the most important thing.”

A 29-year-old woman told police the Oscar-winning actor grabbed her breast while he was intoxicated around 11:15 p.m. Sunday. Gooding claims he was partying with friends inside the NYC lounge, posed for pics with fans, but says no one was touched inappropriately … not even by accident.

We hope for his sake he takes it easy for a while on the partying. In the meantime we’ll throw it back to that time he got so lit in a Miami club he ate a man’s phone.
