Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Granted Temporary Custody of His Daughter

Nipsey Hussle’s sister has scored a major victory in the fight for custody of his daughter. According to TMZ, a judge granted Samantha Smith temporary custody of Emani Ashegdom.

As previously reported, Smith filed a petition for custody of Hussle’s 10-year-old daughter earlier this month. At the time a judge denied her petition but scheduled a hearing for a later date.

Nipsey’s family was in court on Monday and squared off with Emani’s mother Tanisha Foster, whom they believe is not fit to care for Emani.

Apparently Emani has been living with Samantha, since his death last March. Last week Foster appeared in court and was granted 20 mins alone with Emani, whom she says she hasn’t seen in months.

On Monday, following the judge’s ruling she left the courtroom and was visibly pissed. Tanisha’s lawyer, Larry Lewellyn, tells TMZ he’s working with Nipsey’s family on a visitation schedule that will be in Emani’s best interest.

The next hearing is scheduled for July. In the meantime, on Tuesday Samantha posted a photo on her Instagram account with the caption “I am my brothers keeper.”
