Kim Kardashian Comes Clean About Her Tiny Waist At The Met Gala

Kim Kardashian’s Met Gala outfit was the source of much debate and criticism. Particularly because her waist was as tiny as a teenage girls.’

Folks were convinced she had ribs removed to fit in her Manfred Thierry Mugler creation and debate sparked once again about the authenticity of famously curvy figure.

“So how many ribs do we think Kim k has had removed?” one user wrote on Twitter.

“It’s insulting to our intelligence to pretend this is from a plant based diet and not from getting actual ribs removed,” said another, in response to an article about the star’s strict pre-gala meal plan.

Kardashian’s trainer said her otherworldly figure was mostly thanks to good old-fashioned exercise. “To make things clear,” Melissa Alcantara wrote in an Instagram story, “1. This dress is corseted BUT 2. Kim trains her ass off 6 days a f–king week, she wakes up early AF and is dedicated.”

Needless to say the folks at VOGUE must wind of the talk and decide to post a video from her MET Gala fitting to clear things up. During the 7-min clip Kim reveals that her shockingly small waist-line came courtesy of a special corset created by legendary waist-snatcher Mr. Pearl.

Mugler frequently collaborates with Pearl who has famously created corsets for burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese. Apparently Kims was so she couldn’t even sit-down or go to the bathroom.

Kardashian also revealed the details behind her custom creation which took some eight months to complete. She also says Mugler was her first choice to dress her for the gala once she learned the theme would be “Camp: Notes on Fashion.”

“He is, like, the king of camp,” she explained. “He invented camp.” It seems the feeling was mutual, as Mugler came out of retirement to design his first look in 20 years for Kardashian.

To be clear however, we can’t agree with the idea that Mugler INVENTED camp. While he was an early adapter of the fashion trend — you’ll recall Cardi B. wore one of his archived pieces to this year’s Grammys —  Black drag queens were definitely the originators. Don’t believe us, just ask Lena Waithe.

The Chi director wore a Pyer Moss pant suit that said “Black Drag Queens Invented Camp” to the Met Gala.

“We collaborated on really bringing a message,” Waithe told E! News. “To me, I really wanted to make sure my outfit represented the black drag queens who started this camp thing about being over the top and all that jazz.”
