It’s Wiz Khalifa like you’ve never seen him before — no seriously, it Wiz before his was WIZ!

Khalifa has revealed that he will be launching a docuseries next week, and by the looks of it, he’s really giving fans a look at his humble beginnings and struggle to the top. The announcement stated, “the series will go into the most intimate aspects of Wiz’s life, containing archival footage from throughout his decade-plus-long career. The series will feature interviews with his family and his closest friends.”

In the trailer, via Variety, the 31-year-old can be seen rapping to single digit crowds and hosting nearly-empty CD signings, while still giving it everything he can. It really is a far cry from the facade so many rappers try to portray these days — it’s honestly refreshing. And throughout it all, his Taylor Gang (including his mom) was by his side.

“Taylor Gang has been with me since the start, so I wanted to make something to show just how far we’ve come,” Wiz says, speaking to his fanbase and creative crew featured throughout the series.

“Strahan and Sara” co-host Michael Strahan is an executive producer on the project and had this to say: “Wiz and I both share a passion for family, friendship and hard work, and that’s exactly what you’ll see from him in this series. We’re excited to team up with Apple Music and give the world an intimate look into the rise of an entertainment icon.”

Wiz Khalifa will launch his docuseries, “Wiz Khalifa: Behind the Cam,” April 17 with all five episodes available worldwide on Apple Music. We have to say, we’re pretty excited to tune in.
