Stars Say Goodbye To John Singleton
John Singleton has passed away at the age of 51.
The famed, Academy-Award nominated director suffered a stroke 12 days ago that left him in a coma. It was announced earlier on Monday that the family decided to withdraw life support.
“It is with heavy hearts we announce that our beloved son, father and friend, John Daniel Singleton will be taken off life support today. This was an agonizing decision, one that our family made, over a number of days, with the careful counsel of John’s doctors.”
Hours later a representative for the Singleton family stated John passed “peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends.”
An enormous outpouring of love and support has erupted online. Those who have had the pleasure and privilege of working with Singleton, or even just admiring his work from afar, have expressed their profound admiration for the industry titan.
RIP John Singleton. So sad to hear. John was a brave artist and a true inspiration. His vision changed everything.
