Diddy Does Essence! Opens Up About Kim Porter’s Death & Parenting



Sean “Diddy” Combs graced the cover of Essence magazine with his beautiful chocolate kids to share how the family is dealing with the untimely death of Kim Porter.

On November 15, 2018, just one month before her 48th birthday the world lost a beautiful spirit to pneumonia. Porter left behind her four kids, three of which she shared with Diddy.

As Mother’s Day is soon approaching Puff is faced to recall this devastating moment in his life. In respect to Kim, Essence magazine made a historic and possibly controversial decision to put a man on the cover for their May issue in celebration of Mother’s Day.

As Combs sat down to open up about the day she passed, he revealed that “three days before she passed, she wasn’t feeling well. She had the flu, and she sent the kids over to my house so they wouldn’t get sick. One night I was checking on her, and she was like, ‘Puffy, take care of my babies.’”

Puffy says once he had gotten the news of her passing, he “jumped into mommy mode.”

He tried his best to locate his kids so that they would not hear about the news through social media. Their daughters D’Lila and Jessie were at school, their son Quincy was onset in Atlanta, and Christian was in the air on a plane. Combs also expressed how he felt scared and did not know what to do; and felt Kim’s voice telling him “Make sure you take care of my babies.”

The multi-millionaire mogul also shared how he felt he was a part-time father before but now he is a lot more present.

“Before this I was a part-time father, you know? My family was always first, but there are countless times when I chose work over anything else. But everyday I can hear her telling me to go and spend more time with the kids and make sure everybody’s all right, like she would do. I’m just a lot more present, and most importabtNow my kids come before anything in my life.”
