Why Wendy Williams’ Sober Living Home May Not Be The Only Help She Needs

It’s been a trying few months for Wendy Williams, but the talk show host has revealed she’s working on healing in a very strategic way — a sober living home.

It all started months ago when Williams fractured her shoulder and, according to the DailyMail, fell into a depression which included binging booze and pills. Wendy has always been very open about her prior addiction to cocaine, but now it seems her propensity for dependency has returned in a new form.

But, what may be even more disturbing is the accusation that the injury that caused her to fall off the wagon came at the hands of her husband, Kevin Hunter. Allegedly, Hunter caused Williams’ shoulder fracture when she caught him cheating. This has also been rumored to be the reason Wendy was missing from her eponymous talk show for several months.

While Wendy has been relatively mum on any abuse and/or cheating accusations, she did reveal during Tuesday’s show that she has been seeking treatment for her addiction struggles.

“I have been living in a sober house,” she told the audience through tears. “… You know I’ve had a struggle with cocaine in my past. I never went to a place to get the treatment … there are people in your family, it might be you … I want you to know more of the story.”

Williams went on to explain that she returns to the sober facility after work and personal errands everyday — she even has a curfew.

“After I go to the Pilates and go to several meetings all around town in the tri-state area, I see my brothers and sisters caught up in their addiction and looking for help,” she continued. “They don’t know I’m Wendy. They don’t care I’m Wendy. It’s the brothers and sisters caught up in the struggle. It’s been really interesting, this ride.”

“After I finish my appointments … I am driven by my 24-hour sober coach back to a home that I live in the tri-state with a bunch of smelly boys who have become my family. … We talk and read and talk and read and then I get bored with them. Doors locked by 10 p.m., lights out by 10 p.m., so I go to my room and stare at the ceiling and fall asleep to come here and see you. So that is my truth.”

However, her truth may be selective. She mentioned that her husband Kevin was the only person who knew about her sober living arrangement. But, if the rumors are true and Hunter is a part of the problem, then may be treating just her addiction won’t be enough.
