Momma here come that man!
For the 12th straight year Steve Harvey is using his celebrity to help students across the country follow their dreams with Disney Dreamer’s Academy. Each year 100 students are selected to participate in the four-day educational mentoring program that takes place at Walt Disney World Resort.
HipHollywood was on hand and witnessed first-hand what Harvey, Disney and Essence are doing to transform kids lives.
Students are inspired to discover new career opportunities and pursue their dreams through workshops and classes featuring a dynamic group of motivational speakers like Yolanda Adams, Chef Jeff and Dr. Steve Perry.
Then there’s also a host of celebrity guests who come out to motivate the kids throughout the weekend. This year Oscar winner Ruth Carter, Black-ish stars Marcus Scribner and Myles Brown, and Grown-ish stars Trevor Jackson and Chloe & Halle turned out.
Since it’s inception in 2007, more than 1,200 students have participated in the academy with Harvey and Essence Magazine.
