New Details: Nipsey Hussle Shot & Killed Outside His Clothing Store



Sad news to report.

Los Angeles bred rapper Nipsey Hussle has been shot and killed. The Grammy-nominated MC was killed in a shooting outside his clothing store in Los Angeles, multiple law enforcement sources said. Two other men were in serious condition, and a suspect remained at large.

Nipsey was reortedly gunned down at approximate 3:20 p.m. in the 3400 block of Slauson Avenue, Mike Lopez of the Los Angeles Police Department said. Lopez said that it was an ongoing investigation, no one had been detained and the suspect or suspects remained at large.

The shooting took place outside The Marathon Clothing Company, a clothing store owned by the Grammy-nominated rapper whose real name is Ermias Asghedom. Asghedom was one of the three people shot and was pronounced dead at the hospital, sources told NBC4.

He was 33.

Hussle’s debut studio album, “Victory Lap” was nominated for Best Rap Album at this year’s Grammy Awards. He was the father of two children, a 2 year old son with actress Lauren London and a 10 year old daughter previous relationship.

Following news of his passing the music world has begun mourning the L.A. rapper with tributes to his memory. “Nobody ever talks down on your name you were a real one to your people and to the rest of us,” Drake said in a post.

“My spirit is shaken by this,” Rihanna said in her own tribute. “I’m so sorry this happened to you.”

“One of my favorite things in the world to do was tell people how much they were sleeping on Nipsey Hussle,” Talib Kweli said in memory of Hussle.

Chance the Rapper, ASAP Rocky, Talib Kweli, Gucci Mane, 21 Savage, Vince Staples, Meek Mill, Wiz Khalifa, Lil Pump, Soulja Boy, Swizz Beats, Boi-1da, and others have also taken to social media to remember Hussle.
