Oprah Winfrey just entered the Leaving Neverland documentary controversy. On Wednesday it was announced that the talk show queen will be sitting down with Michael Jackson accusers Wade Robson and James Safechuck for a special Q&A that will air on HBO and OWN.
“Oprah Winfrey Presents: After Neverland” will air at 10 p.m. March 4 immediately following the second half of the documentary “Leaving Neverland,” which details allegations of sexual abuse by the late pop superstar.
Director Dan Reed will also join Robson and Safechuck in the Q&A to be recorded Thursday in front of an audience of sexual abuse survivors and those whose lives have been impacted by abuse. The first half of “Leaving Neverland,” which made waves at the Sundance Film Festival last month, debuts March 3 on HBO.
The doc and Robson and Safechuck’s claims have been vigorously denied by members of Jackson’s family. The fact that Lady O is doing the interview despite all the controversy has many on Twitter up in arms, calling her a traitor for ratings.
Others also called her out for staying silent amidst numerous allegations against her friend Harvey Weinstein.
