21 Savage is facing the oddest of circumstances — ones his fans (and most certainly he) did not see coming. Not only is the rapper on the verge of deportation, but somehow, Demi Lovato got all caught up in the mix.
It started over the weekend with reports that Savage, real name Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph, had been arrested by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) while in Atlanta. 21 was born in the UK, but had been raised in the ATL since he was 12 years-old. At the time, he was in the US on a visa, but it expired a year after his arrival in 2006.
While the “A Lot” rapper is currently being detained, his attorney Charles Kuck is going on the defense and according to TMZ is saying, “his client actually applied for a U-Visa back in 2017 and the application is pending, and ICE has known about it yet took no action until this weekend.” The attorney goes on to say, “As a minor, his family overstayed their work visas, and he, like almost two million other children, was left without legal status through no fault of his own.”
Savage and his attorney are currently fighting for his stay in the US, and additionally, an online petition has been created by Black Lives Matter co-founder, Patrisse Cullors, in an attempt to halt a possible deportation. However, the internet took 21’s dire situation and decide to make light of it with a few memes…

Unfortunately, when singer Demi Lovato tried to get in on the joke it backfired in a major way…
She later quit Twitter.
