They may have just wrapped the “On The Run II” tour, but that doesn’t mean The Carters are slowing down — if anything, they may be taking things up a notch!
From the stadium stage to The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Queen Bey took her talents to the beach in order to honor Warner/Chappell Music Publishing CEO Jon Platt at the City of Hope gala on Thursday night. Following Jay’s heartfelt speech, in which he presented Platt with the prestigious Spirit of Life award, Yonce performed three ballads including her smash hit “Halo”.
Bey also spoke about Jon’s amazing spirit saying, “Most people lead with their ego, but you lead with your heart. You have touched so many lives, mine included.”
In addition to honoring Platt, the night also raised $6 million for cancer research. Pharrell Williams hosted the star-studded event and the who’s who of music was on hand to celebrate such a momentous occasion. Take a look at the pictures below:
