Pharrell Checks Trump! The Many Times Donald Has Been Shut Down For Using An Unauthorized Song

Pharrell just gave The Donald an epic ‘nah, son’ regarding his song. Clap for him, he deserves an award!

On Saturday, a deranged, Neo-nazi, MAGA-enthusiast entered a synagogue in Pittsburgh and killed 11 people. On that same day, Trump showed up to an event in Indiana and hit the stage playing “Happy.” There was absolutely nothing to be “happy” about. Pharrell was appalled by Donald’s use of his song, and even more appalled by the timing of such use. And that’s were he got his people involved. Williams had his attorney send Trump a cease and desist stating that he has not right to use the music — ever!

Pharrell isn’t the first artist to shut down Trump’s attempt at using their music. There’s a hilariously long list of folks that have told the reality star turned White House resident a resounding ‘hell no!’ when it comes to their hits.

Not only did Donald Trump use the O’Jays hit song “Love Train” during his campaign, he switched it up into the ridiculous remix, “Trump Train”, and that really set the group off!
“Our music, and most especially, ‘Love Train’ is about bringing people together, not building walls,” said group member Walter Williams in a statement. “I don’t appreciate being associated with Mr. Trump and his usage of our music without permission.”

Adele keeps it pretty low-key. She gets in, does her music, and dips out. But when the Donald used her smash hit “Rolling In The Deep” during campaign stops, she shut him down publicly releasing a statement saying he has no rights to use ANY of her music for political purposes.

Trump should have known better. Like, anyone with half a brain would know that Prince would never f- with DT. Yet, and still, they tried to use “Purple Rain” of all songs. They were buggin’! Prince’s estate promptly issued a statement the White House never to use the song again. “The Prince Estate has never given permission to President Trump or The White House to use Prince’s songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately,” a statement read. Boom!

Trump played “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” during his presidential run. And ironically, that’s how the group ended up feeling about the situation. Although The Stones released not one, but two statements demanding The Donald immediately “cease all use” of their songs, Mick Jagger eventually conceded that there was no way to get him to stop. “They can play what they want … you can’t stop them.”

The Piano Man took a less aggressive stance against Trump by not out right demanding he stop using “Tiny Dancer” and “Rocket Man.” However, he did make it known that the use of the music was not an endorsement. “I’m British. I’ve met Donald Trump, he was very nice to me, it’s nothing personal, his political views are his own, mine are very different, I’m not a Republican in a million years,” John said, before kind of snapping. “Why not ask Ted f*cking Nugent? Or one of those fucking country stars? They’ll do it for you.” John later denied Trump’s request to perform at his inauguration. Burn.

Man, Donald was really on a role pissing folks off at the Republican National Convention. First, his teamed used the Queen song “We Are the Champions” to which the group asked him to stop. However, he continued, then to add insult to injury, he added “September” to his line up and Earth Wind and Fire was like, ‘hell nah!’

Not surprisingly, it seems like Trump gave zero f- about anyone’s feelings.
