Amara La Negra was, no doubt, the standout star from Season 1 of Love & Hip Hop: Miami. And, by the sound of it, the Afro-Latina singer plans on dominating the second season, as well.
HH caught up with Amara while at the American Music Awards and the talented beauty had tea to spill on the newest season on the popular VH1 show. During last season, La Negra spent much of her time defending her heritage as a Black Latina woman, but this time around things will be different. “It’s definitely not going to be like the first season,” La Negra stated, and luckily that means keeping her hands to herself. “I am trying to be a lady this season and not punch anybody in their face.”
Unfortunately, those efforts may be thwarted as Amara admits, the show is still shooting and anything could happen. “The season isn’t over yet, we’re still working on it, so I don’t know what’s going to happen.”
For La Negra, though, things can only go up. Within hours of last season’s debut, the sassy songstress landed a multi-album record deal with BMG. She mostly recently dropped the single “Insecure” and released an accompanying video.
Let’s just say she’s com a long way from her musical debut “Ayy”.
