Tyga is riding a wave and it doesn’t seem to be coming down anytime soon. Hot on the heels of the release of his summer hit, “Taste,” featuring Migos’ Offset, the Rack City rapper has dropped the single “Dip” featuring Nicki Minaj and fans are loving it.
On Monday, after Minaj teased the single on her Queen Radio show, a visual dropped and set Twitter on fire.
Besides loving the song folks were also singing Tyga’s praises, a stark contrast to the kind of mentions he had been receiving on social media in recent years. Most of the news seemed to be about his baby-mama drama, financial troubles and dating (a then under-age) Kylie Jenner. And then there was the corn emoji’s that flooded his comment section after Blac Chyna posted his emotional text messages to her.
Now, all that has seemingly changed. Like his hairline, Tyga, born Micheal Ray Stevenson, has made a serious comeback. Not only did “Taste” hit No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 but his solo single “Swish,” peaked at No. 44 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
“Dip” could easily follow suit. The single features a highly twerkable production with both MC’s spitting some witty bars. In the video the duo sport some futuristic threads and display a playful chemistry that harkens back to their YMCMB roots.
Clearly if there was any bad blood between the two, since Tyga’s exist from Young Money, it’s all love now.
