Some of your faves showed up and slayyyyed at the AMAs — others suffered something horrible. Either way, we’re here to give you the good, bad and unfortunate.
First, let’s start with the folks who were HOT! Example — The American Music Awards hostest with the mostest, Tracee Ellis Ross. The gorgeous actress stunned, and maybe shocked, in this Pyer Moss pink pantsuit.
And keeping with the menswear theme, Ella Mai looked gorgeous in this mint green oversized suit. The “Boo’d” up singer hit the carpet solo solo, but who needs a date when you look this good. Ms. Mai also sang her hit song during her AMAs debut and had the crowd on their feet singing along, too.
Speaking of oversized, Cardi B kept it cute and floral in this dramatic dolce and gabbana gown … but baby Kulture is probably hiding in that headwear. That thang is huge! Fashion aside, Cardi hit the stage to accept the first award of the night, Best Rap/HipHop Artist, and to perform her number one hit “I Like It”. By the looks of it, her hubby Offset really liked it as he cheered from the crowd.
Rounding out our faves of the night is Rita Ora who also hopped on the dramatic trend with a black Giambatista Valli gown with exagerated shoulders. Not everyone Ould pull this look off, but the British singer nailed it perfectly.
There were definitely those who pushed the fashion boundries forward … and others who left us bothered by resting on their laurels.
Take Jennifer Lopez for instance. They triple threat superstar served up her usual sexy in a hot pink George Chakra gown — not bad, just kinda boring. But who ware we kidding, even J. Lo on her worst day is better than most on their best day.
We also yawned a bit seeing Saweetie. The rap newcomer played it safe, but we think she could have taken the opportunity to shine t her first AMAs. Maybe she didn’t want to upstage her date, Migos rapper Quavo.
Tyra Banks left us underwhelemed … as did Ciara…
But Amara La Nerga woke us up in her her metallic blue pantsuit and while we applaud her boldness, it wasn’t necessarily our fave.
So, there you have it! Do you agree with our picks?
