Will Smith Finally Hits The Stage For His Stand-Up Comedy Debut … So, How Did He Do?

Will Smith is set to turn 50 on September 25th and to celebrate the actor is checking things off his bucket list — hence, his stand-up debut!

We can all thank Dave Chappelle for this moment happening. The comedian hosted a star-studded surprise comedy show at the Peppermint Club in Los Angeles on Wednesday night. And according to PageSix, it was quite the affair. Not only did Smith show up, along with his wife Jada and daughter Willow, but LeBron James, Jon Stewart, Michelle Wolf, Katt Williams, Michael Che and John Mayer also hit the club for the epic night of laughs.

So, the question remains … did Will kill it? Well, for his bucket list performance (which will be apart of a show his shooting aptly titled “The Bucket List”) PageSix notes “his repertoire revolved mostly around life at home with the family.”

“I kind of lost control of my house,” joked Smith, noting that his wife’s “Red Table Talk” show on Facebook Watch has turned the garage into a control booth (a bewildered Smith made light of how his ex-wife Sheree got booked for the first episode). Meanwhile, son Jaden had a song that was taking off (“Icon”) but wouldn’t let his dad be featured on the track. Cracked an incredulous Smith: “He looked at me like I was the second-best rapper in the house!”

But Will didn’t stick to just jokes, he also hit the mic for a freestyle session with Katt Williams and John Mayer…
