Whoa, Kelly Clarkson! Steve Harvey’s Show Gets Axed, Replaced By ‘American Idol’ Winner?!

Steve Harvey just kicked off the second season of his self-titled talk show (“Steve”) on September 3rd, but could the show be getting cancelled to make room for Kelly Clarkson? If the rumor mill is true, then #issaYES.

According to several reports, “AI” alum Clarkson will be getting her own self-titled talk show which is set to premiere next Fall. “The Kelly Clarkson Show” has already been picked up in 11 markets and will air during the time slot that “Steve” currently occupies — the block right before “Ellen”.

So, what does that mean for “Steve”? Well, it could be that the show is moving to a new time slot come next Fall. Or, it could mean sayonara to “Steve”. The gossip going around town seems to lean towards the latter — “Steve” will complete its current second season, but will not be picked up for a third.

“Steve” was formally “The Steve Harvey Show” but made the switch two years ago, moving from Chicago to LA, and giving Harvey more creative control. The comedian took some flack for his “don’t talk to me” approach with his staff, but by all accounts, it seemed as though the show weathered the storm. Either way, we wish him the best.
