We’ve got good news for Common fans. The Chicago-bred MC plans to drop new music soon.
Despite having two films slated for release soon – Smallfoot in theaters Friday and The Hate U Give (in theaters October 5) Common told HipHollywood he hasn’t given up on his first love.
“I love acting, and I love music and I want to continue to do both,” he said while at the press day for Smallfoot.
Back in March Common’s supergroup August Greene which includes himself, Robert Glasper and Karim Riggins dropped their self-titled debut album and will embark on their first tour in November. But not before he record’s his own solo album.
“I’m presently going to be working on my own album, a Common project and we are writing music for film so I’m definitely continuing to make music.”
In the meantime fans of the Chi-town bred MC can check out out a new track from him on the Smallfoot soundtrack.
