A new sister is joining Sister Circle!
HipHollywood has learned exclusively that Kiana Dancie has been fired as a host of the daytime TV talker and is now being replaced by Trina Braxton.
Parent company Tegna made an official announcement on Monday about Braxton joining the show, but did not mention Dancie’s firing.
“From her musical roots as part of the legendary Braxton sisters and continuing to star with her famous family on Braxton Family Values, Trina brings a unique perspective to Sister Circle with her honest and candid perspective on relationships, motherhood, and managing it all,” said Lisa Kridos, vice president of original programming and development, Tegna, in a statement.
The announcement also only mentions hosts Rashan Ali, Syleena Johnson and Quad Webb-Lunceford.
HipHollywood reached out to producers at Sister Circle and Dancie’s reps but did not receive a comment back. We’re told show producers wanted to “move in a different direction for season 2”.
The R&B singer and star of WEtv’s Braxton Family Values has been a guest host on the show several times, most recently filling in for Rashan Ali on August 2nd and for host Syleena Johnson back in May.
Sister Circle airs in 12 Tegna markets and on cable network TV One at noon ET. The show is produced by WATL Atlanta and reaches 60% of U.S. TV households.
