Kanye West, Erykah Badu & More … Are These “First Families of Music” Iconic?

For their September issue, Harper’s Bazaar has named the “First Families of Music” who they consider #BazaarIcons. These days folks throw the word “icon” around fairly loosely, but do these families actually deserve the moniker?

HB kicks off the article describing it by stating: “From Bruce Springsteen & Kanye West, to Christina Aguilera & Erykah Badu, the greats of rock, pop, and rap come together with their promising offspring and prove that the legacy lives on.”

The mag features a few of our faves like Erykah Badu with her daughters Puma and Mars. Badu told Bazaar, ““I want my children to use their gifts in order to do service for others. That is, to make sure that their gifts are serving something bigger than themselves. And to do what I say.”

Kanye West was also featured with 2/3 of his brood. He shared, “I hope my children never lose their confidence to society.”

The legendary Lionel Richie posed with his daughter Nicole and had this to say about his offspring: “I wish for my kids to discover who they are and explore their passions to the fullest.”

And another fave, Christina Aguilera, posed with her babies, Max and Summer, and stated, “I love being mama bear and providing support, strength, and a safe haven to my babies and loved ones, knowing that, above all else, it’s the most important job I have.”

The issue hits stands August 21st, but in the meantime you can click HERE for a video featuring all the families including Mariah Carey with her twins (Monroe & Moroccan) , Michael Jackson’s only daughter, Paris Jackson, and more.

We think there are definitely some icons on the list … how about you?
