We’re used to Kanye West being in his feelings, but this show of emotion, actually touched our hearts.
West turned out to support good pal Virgil Abloh’s debut collection for Louis Vuitton at the label’s spring/summer 2019 menswear show in Paris on Thursday and got pretty emotional after the show.
Camera’s caught West and Abloh embrace at the end of the catwalk and West begins to cry hugging his friend at length. The moment is quite touching and symbolizes how much Abloh’s success means to West.
The two have been friends for years with Abloh working as head of Kanye’s creative agency, Donda, and artistic director of the 2011 JAY-Z/Kanye West album Watch the Throne before starting his own labels Pyrex Vision and Off-White.
His appointment to lead Louis Vuitton’s menswear is a major milestone professionally and for the house of Louis Vuitton — he’s the first African-American artistic director for the menswear division and only one of the few black designers the brand has ever had.
We’re sure it was also emotional for Kanye given the fact wife Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint the last time she was in Paris, and this was her first return back to the city.
On Thursday Kardashian tweeted: “Thank you Paris for the emotional trip back!. I couldn’t have come for a better reason.”
Photographers caught the stylish couple as they made their way into the Louis Vuitton show and of course Kimmy was documenting the moment.
While sitting front row with wife Kardashian, Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott, West wore a sweatshirt with a bird painted on it with the phrases “I am loving,” “Awareness” and “There is only freedom” printed across it.
In recent weeks, West has also been very honest about his mental health issues, talking openly about his bi-polar diagnosis on his new album Ye.
