Would you like to wear your lady parts right on your pants? Well, of course you would! And now, you may just get the chance too!
Following Janelle Monáe’s recent single “Pynk” and the favorable reception of the music video — in which she dons vagina-inspired pink pants — it looks as though Monáe plans to make the p-pants available to all. “We may be working on that,” the 32-year-old singer told People. “I’m trying. I’m so tickled and honored that people are talking about the ‘Pynk’ pants, I think that it’s so cool to have discussions around women’s issues and women’s bodies, I think it’s amazing.”
“There are some women in the video that do not have on the pants, because I don’t believe that all women need to possess a vagina to be a woman. I wanted ‘Pynk’ to be a celebration of women who are unique, distinct, different, may be different from one another but when they come together they create something magical and special,” the pro pansexualism singer revealed.
The viral vagina pants came by way of designer Duran Lantink, who was asked by “Pynk” director Emma Westenberg to create costume ideas “with a vagina look and feel,” according to Dazed. “I googled vaginas and started designing,” Lantink stated. “I really loved the idea of a giant vagina as legs. Janelle loved it, so we tweaked it into something we both loved.”
But the big question is, is it something you love? Would you rock this look?
