Morgan Freeman will not let CNN tarnish his longstanding legacy without a fight…

Freeman is coming for the news network following their report stating 8 women were accusing Morgan of sexual harassment and/or inappropriate behavior. More specifically, Morgan takes issue with CNN reporter Chloe Melas, who spearheaded the investigation of Mr. Freeman and even claimed he was inappropriate with her when she interview him while 6 months pregnant.

Morgan is calling BS saying that the comment, “I wish I was there,” was a reference to his co-star Michael Caine’s story about congratulating a woman who he thought was pregnant when she was not. The actor’s attorney has issued a. 10-page letter demanding a retraction and apology from CNN … here’s a snippet:

“One cannot know if [Melas’ version of events] was the product of something as innocuous as Ms. Melas having misheard what Mr. Freeman said, her runaway self-centeredness, or her search for a sexual harassment perpetrator to ‘expose’ so that she could grab attention and advance her career.”

“At a minimum, CNN immediately needs to issue a retraction and apologize to Mr. Freeman through the same channels, and with the same level of attention, that it used to unjustly attack him on May 24.”

In response to the letter, a CNN spokesperson said in a statement: “The unfounded accusations made by Mr. Freeman’s lawyer are disappointing and are difficult to reconcile with Mr. Freeman’s own public statements in the aftermath of the story. CNN stands by its reporting and will respond forcefully to any attempt by Mr. Freeman or his representatives to intimidate us from covering this important public issue.”
