The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Cynthia Bailey is doing well after undergoing emergency surgery.
Bailey is currently recovering at home aka Lake Bailey after doctors removed lipoma from her back, a noncancerous tumor made up of fat tissue.
“Feeling MUCH better today & the love just keeps coming! Thank you my friend,” she wrote on Instagram Thursday afternoon, adding a photo of a get well balloon and cute teddy bear.
The reality star confirmed to The Daily Dish via email that “surgery went well, however it went much longer than expected because the tumor was embedded very deeply in my back and partially under a muscle.”
She explained,”It was also larger than expected. In the end, thankfully all the lipoma was removed successfully, and it is benign.”
Last week, the model took to Instagram to share with her fans that she had a bit of a medical scare. “Early morning doctor appointment today. Had a little health scare. Thankfully I’m ok,” she wrote.
According to Bailey, she saw a “slight raised lump on my back near my left shoulder blade two months ago.” She told Daily Dish, “At first I thought I had been bitten by something, or it was just back fat. A couple of weeks later, I noticed that it was still there and seemed to be growing.”
We are wishing Cynthia a speedy recovery.
