Jaden Smith is getting curved by the greats and according to the rapper, it’s because he has officially become a household name.
In a recent interview with Complex, Will and Jada Smith’s son suggested that Kanye West, Drake and Donald Glover are three of many rap greats who don’t fool with him anymore.
“[My relationship with Drake, Kanye, and Donald Glover has] really changed,” he explained. “I always felt like Little Homie before and that allowed me in all of their circles. But now that I’m on the charts next to them, I’m not really Little Homie anymore.”
He explained about the folks who have turned their backs on him, “It’s more like, ‘You can’t hang out with us anymore. We didn’t know you were making an album this whole time. We thought you were just Little Homie giving us free water and shit. You’re not really cool with us anymore.'”
If you recall, Jaden even went to Kim Kardashian and Kanye’s wedding. And interestingly enough, Jada just celebrated Valentines Day with the Kardashian crew last month and guess who was also there part of the action … Kanye. (But we digress)
No, Jaden is not sitting number 1 alongside Drake, but the 19-year-old’s debut studio album, SYRE, did peak on the Billboard 200 chart at number 24.
Just last month, Jaden’s famous dad, Will Smith, celebrated J’s track, “Icon” reaching 100,000,000 streams on Spotify by hilariously recreating the music video.
