Jill Scott is certainly living her life like it’s golden this week all thanks to a judge’s decision to honor she and her estranged husband’s prenuptial agreement.
On Wednesday, a Tennessee judge denied Michael Dobson’s request for the singer to pay his legal fees, which was reportedly $6,500. According to reports, the former couple’s agreement prior to getting hitched worked in her favor and now she doesn’t have to pay spousal support.
Back in November 2017, the singer filed for divorce from Dobson after less than 18 months of marriage. Per the documents, not only did Scott cite irreconcilable differences, but suggested that due to “inappropriate marital conduct that such further cohabitation would be unsafe and improper.”
Last month, Jill filmed herself during what appear3ed to be a drunken tirade and posted it on social media. In the visual, she looked to be shedding some crocodile tears before all of a sudden laughing hysterically.
After being blasted with comments from fans concerned for her well being, the Philly native took to the social media website to suggest her antics had nothing to do with her divorce. “Real Talk. Good Night,” she wrote.
