Cardi B usually has fans on her side when it comes to her fun antics and catchy lyrics. This time, however, folks are throwing up a big fat question mark following a very awkward sample of Lauryn Hill.
On Wednesday night, Cardi shared a video on Instagram of herself teasing music from her upcoming album, Invasion of Privacy. Although people are thrilled about the female emcee’s anticipated project, they were certainly not ready for Cardi’s effort to sing a Hill classic.
In the video posted on her Instagram stories, the New York Native can be seen sampling the 1998 hit, “Ex-Factor.”
Per the usual, the voiced their opinions on social media. One person said to simply, “Cancel the whole album.” Another Instagram user wrote, “I can’t believe they allowed this girl to redo Lauryn Hill song. But y’all was calling her queen tho just a few months.”
Just last week, the rapper released the cove art for the LP out April 6.
