Trey Songz is being accused of hitting a woman during an NBA All-Star Weekend party and now, the singer’s legal fate is in the hands of the L.A. City Attorney.
TMZ first broke to the story; Songz was at a party in the Hollywood Hills when he allegedly grew frustrated with a woman who was talking with another man. That’s when he apparently lashed out and hit her.
The victim, who’s name has not been unveiled, left the party following the incident, went to the hospital and filed a police report. The L.A. City Attorney will now determine if Songz will be charged. Calls to the city attorney have not been returned.
Unfortunately for Songz, there are a slew of incidents that the city can refer back to. Last year, Mr. Steal your girl was accused of smacking a girl in the face with her own phone. That accuser then sued for $50,000.00. Back in August 2016, Songz also pled guilty to two counts of disturbing the piece in Detroit.
The singer might still woo the ladies with his sweet vocals, but the question remains: Does the r&b crooner have a rage problem?
What we do know is that when his pal Chris Brown was going through similar legal issues (i.e., following the 2009 attack on then girlfriend Rihanna), Trey was supportive.
“He (Chris) is one of the most heavily scrutinized artist in the history of music, everybody makes mistakes,” Trey told HipHollywood exclusively back in 2014. “People go through life … I just let him know I’m here for you regardless.”
