The entertainment and sports worlds are mourning the loss of two greats this morning.
Former NBA star, Rasual Butler, and wife, singer Leah Labelle, both died early Wednesday morning in a car crash in Studio City, CA. Following news of the tragic deaths, several stars took to social media to express their sadness and condolences.
Dwyane Wade posted an old photo on Instagram of he and the former Miami Heat player. “Rasual and i my rookie year in Miami. This was my first public appearance and i was nervous to go along—So Sual joined to make it easier on me,” he wrote.
Wade, who spent most of his NBA career in Miami, explained, “That’s who he was—A great individual that was always there for people when they needed him. Today is a sad day—Sual’s family, his wife’s family and his NBA family mourn the lost of a great man. R.I.P philly boy Rasual Butler!”
Singer, Tank, shared a snapshot of the couple and wrote on Instagram: “This is how i’ll always remember you two. To love is to reach the highest point in life and you beautiful souls were able to accomplish this. I love you and i’m going to miss you. #RasualButler#LeahLaBelle #RIP.”
Erica Mena wrote on Instagram that she just had dinner with the couple and that the lovebirds were not just “couple goals but such great friends to many.”
New Girl actor, Lamorne Morris, suggested he was in “total shock. Such a dope couple and truly dope people. Prayers to the family. RIP Leah and Rasual.”
Laura Govan also responded, writing on Instagram: “My Heart Is So Heavy Right Now as Im At A Loss Of Words …. I LoVe You Both R.I.P. God Needed You More Than We Did #InRealLife #The Most Kind Hearted Dopest Couple I EverMet.”
