Meghan Markle is marrying into royalty, which means her parents are right along for the ride.
The royal family announced on Monday morning that Prince Harry and Markle are officially engaged. The Prince popped the question earlier this month in London and is expected to wed his beautiful Dutchess to be in Spring 2018.
Prior to the official proposal, not only did Harry consult with the Queen first, but he also made sure to “sought and received the blessing of Ms. Markle’s parents.”
As you could imagine, Markle’s parents, Thomas Markle and Doria Ragland, are thrilled about giving their daughter away to a Prince. “We are incredibly happy for Meghan and Harry,” hey said in a joint statement. ”
They added, “Our daughter has always been a kind and loving person. To see her union with Harry, who shares the same qualities, is a source of great joy for us as parents. We wish them a lifetime of happiness and are very excited for their future together.”
Meghan was born to Thomas and Doria in 1981 and grew up in the Crenshaw area of Los Angeles. Her father was an Emmy-winning lighting director on television shows and her mother is a psychotherapist and yoga instructor.
Markle and the Prince sealed the news with a beautiful photoshoot in The Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace.
