Shockwaves were sent around the nation on Wednesday morning after NBC announced that they fired Today’s Matt Lauer after an employee complained about “inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace.”

Following the shocking announcement, Black Twitter aggressively lobbied for Tamron Hall to come back. Hall walked away from NBC and MSNBC almost one year ago and turned down a multi-million dollar deal to stay at the Today show.

“Good morning all! And a SPECIAL good morning to Tamron Hall and Ann Curry,” one Twitter user wrote. Someone else commented, “Let’s brainstorm what woman should take #MattLauwer chair. I’ll start #TamronHall. #TodayShow.”

Following Hall’s exit, NBC said in a statement that “Tamron is an exceptional journalist, we valued and enjoyed her work at Today and MSNBC and hoped that she would decide to stay. We are disappointed that she has chosen to leave, but we wish her all the best.”

It sounds like it wouldn’t be a complete far cry for NBC to fight to bring Hall back; the question is: Would she return?
