New information is starting to surface about 64-year-old, Stephen Paddock, the gunman who opened fire on the crowd at the Route 91 Harvest music festival, killing 59 and injuring over 520 more.

As people try to find answers as to why Paddock could carry out such an egregious and senseless attack, authorities are slowly piecing together the information. While a motive is still unclear, there is evidence suggesting that he had plans to keep going.

Officials believe that Paddock planned to escape after Sunday night’s massacre. After continuing the investigation, police found an additional 50 pounds of explosives material and 1,600 rounds of ammunition in his car in the parking lot of the Mandalay Bay hotel where the mass shooting occurred.

“What we know is Stephen Paddock is a man who spent decades acquiring weapons and ammo, and living a secret life, much of which will never be fully understood,” officials said.

It’s also been confirmed that Paddock rented a room at a Las Vegas condo complex that overlooked the Life Is Beautiful music festival, which took place from September 22-25.

Life is Beautiful, also held in Las Vegas, featured artists like Chance the Rapper, Lorde and Pusha T. “Was he doing pre-surveillance? We don’t know yet. This is all conjecture at this point,” Las Vegas police Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said.

There are also reports that Paddock booked 2 rooms in a hotel that overlooked Lollapalooza in Chicago back in August.

Sunday’s attack is being called the deadliest mass shooting in US history.
