An emotional Big Sean took to Instagram late Tuesday night to share his thoughts on what is now being called the deadliest mass shooting in US history.

“I just wanted to say that I got a brother, sister, a niece, two nephews that live in Vegas, that I see every time I’m in Vegas. I was just there last week performing at a music festival, I’m gonna be back there in a few days,” he started.

The rapper continued, “I don’t know what I would’ve done if something happened along the lines of happened the night before last. My heart goes out to the families, to the people who are just in pain. I feel like the whole world is In pain right now, from the world leaders to the natural disasters.”

Sean explained, “I just want to remind people in times like these not to give up on themselves, not to give up on humanity. The only way we are going to get through this is rising above and doing it out of love.”

On Sunday night, a 64-year-old Stephen Paddock opened fire from 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel in Las Vegas and fired shots into the crowd at the Route 91 Harvest music festival. The shooting left 59 dead and more than 520 injured.

Officials are still trying to find a motive.
