New details are coming out about Janet Jackson’s marriage to estranged husband Wissam Al Mana and it’s pretty sad and shocking to say the least.
According to her brother Randy Jackson, during the latter part of her marriage Janet was being verbally abused by Wissam almost daily, even during her pregnancy.
Randy told People magazine: “There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce … It was quite an abusive situation. It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a bitch every day. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.”
Janet, 51, and Wissam, 42, married in 2012 and welcomed their son, Eissa, in January 2017. In April, Jackson announced the couple was splitting via a video she shot with Randy at her side.
Al Mana’s attorney issued a statement slamming Randy’s comments. “Mr. Al Mana is not going to dignify these particular and deeply hurtful allegations with a response … The breakdown of his marriage to Janet Jackson is a cause of great sadness to Mr. Al Mana, and it is the well-being and privacy of their son, Eissa, that remains his sole focus.”
Janet however got quite emotional on a recent stop in Houston, Texas for her State of the World tour. While performing the song “What About” which describes an abusive relationship Janet broke down in tears and told the crowd, “This is me.”
“What you saw in Houston, it was her situation coming out, what she’s been going through,” Randy said. “The abuse is still going on.”
