Terrell Owens has been tapped to join the upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.
The former NFL player confirmed on Tuesday morning that he will be gettin’ down alongside professional dancer Cheryl Burke for Season 25 of the dancing competition show. “This just happened,” he wrote on Instagram.
While Owens was the frontrunner heading into the new season, HipHollywood has learned exclusively there were other big names being tossed around.
A source close to the program tells us that after Bobby Brown pulled out, Tyson Beckford and Kofi Siriboe were two of several men in talks to star on the series.
So will Owens walk away with the Mirror Ball Trophy? There’s a good chance. Burke took home the coveted award on Seasons, 2 and 3, with celebrity singer, Drew Lachey, and former NLF player, Emmitt Smith. So we’d say TO is in good hands.
The entire cast for Season 25, set to premiere on September 18, will be unveiled on GMA on Wednesday.
