Zendaya landed on the cover of Variety‘s annual “Power of Young Hollywood” issue and was more than candid about her skyrocketing career in Hollywood. She also didn’t bite her tongue when it came to her love life.
The 20-year-old actress was recently rumored to be hooking up with her Spiderman: Homecoming co-star, Tom Holland. And although she’s shut down the chatter in the past, she spoke directly with Variety about her relationship with the actor.
“We are friends,” the Oakland native said. When asked if there was “no romance,” she responded: “No.”
The K.C. Undercover star, however, did admit that Holland is “a great dude. He’s literally one of my best friends. This past how many months we’ve had to do press tours together. There’s very few people that will understand what that’s like at 20 years old.”
Zendaya also opened up about her chemistry test with Holland, telling the publication: “He says when we first met it was super awkward because he went for a handshake and I went for a hug. But I don’t remember that. I thought it was cool.”
She added, “”I was worried because he’s so much shorter than me. I was like, ‘Damn it! It’s going to be weird because I’m super tall.’ But then we ended up doing the audition sitting. So that was good.”
