Amy Schumer is and always will be an advocate for equal pay in the workforce, but new reports suggesting she wants same salary as fellow comedians Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock are simply untrue. At least according to Schumer.

Reports hit the Web on Tuesday that Amy renegotiated her contract for her Netflix The Leather Special after learning what Rock and Chappelle got paid for their comedy specials.

According to Variety, the iconic comedians got paid a cool $20 million for their series, while Amy got paid a $11 million.

And although Amy appeared to be fighting for “equal pay”, the 36-year-old was blasted for insinuating she deserves as much as the two stars. After all, she is a newcomer compared to the comedy vets. Same level? Not even a little.

After the critics came out in full force, Schumer took to Instagram to address what really happened behind the scenes. “Thanks for chiming in on what you feel I deserve to be paid. I believe women deserve equal pay. However I don’t believe I deserve equal pay to Chris and Dave,” she wrote in a lengthy post.

“They are legends and 2 of the greatest comics of all time. I would like to say that I have been selling out arenas these last couple years. Something a female comic has never done. That’s a big deal to me, especially because I know I do my best every night on stage for the audience and they have a good time.”

Amy explained, “I didn’t ask for the same as my friends. I did ask for more than the initial offer. I will continue to work my ass off and be the best performer I can be. The reports of me ‘demanding’ or “insisting” on equal pay to them aren’t a true.”

According to reports, Amy was able to get more money than initially offered … but it ain’t 20 million.
