Summer is the season of HOV and the rapper is not disappointing his fans in 2017.

Jigga just dropped his 13th studio album titled 4:44 and if nothing else, it’s a daring confessional by a rapper mature enough to let his guard down and get real about some sh*t.

First … Jigga seems to admit to the infidelity alluded to on Beyonce’s critically acclaimed album, Lemonade. On “Kill Jay Z”, the rapper says of himself, “You almost went Eric Benét. Let the baddest girl in the world get away / I don’t even know what else to say, Nigga, never go Eric Benét.”

Eric Benet being the actor whose marriage to Halle Berry came to an end because of his infidelity. Jay talks more about his infidelity on 4:44 and he also addresses friendships … one in particular, his relationship with Kanye West.

“You dropped outta school, you lost your principles, I know people backstab you, I felt bad too,” he raps. “But this ‘f*ck everybody’ attitude ain’t natural, But you ain’t a Saint, this ain’t KumbaYe / But you got hurt because you did cool by ‘Ye, You gave him 20 million without blinkin’/ He gave you 20 minutes on stage, f*ck was he thinkin’? ‘F*ck wrong with everybody?’ is what you sayin, But if everybody’s crazy, you’re the one that’s insane.”

That $20 million line is a reference to the $20 million dollars Jay allegedly gave Kanye to stay with Tidal and not sign a deal with Apple Music.

From Ye, Jigga then moves on to Solange and that infamous elevator fight.  He raps, “You egged Solange on, Knowin’ all along, all you had to say you was wrong.”

And it doesn’t stop there! He also talks about meeting Prince, and fire shots at Bill Cosby and Al Sharpton. ‘

“Al Sharpton in the mirror takin’ selfies, How is him or Pill Cosby s’posed to help me?” he quips on “Family Feud.

That’s just some of the many topics that Hov touches on. We’ll be listening to the album all weekend. Have any of you heard 4:44 yet, and if so, what song is resonating with you right now?
