In a world where Donald J. Trump is commander-in-chief, having Dwayne Johnson take the oval office doesn’t sound like a bad idea — and Johnson agrees.
Last year, The Washington Post published an op-ed suggesting that “The Rock” could be a viable presidential candidate. Then, the actor thought it was “interesting” and “fun to read,” but now, a year later, he told GQ, “It started coming up more and more. There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’ I didn’t want to be flippant—‘We’ll have three days off for a weekend! No taxes!’”
While “no taxes” sounds like a great response to us, Johnson is actually sounding like Washington, D.C., could really be in his future. When asked whether he honestly might one day give up his life as the highest-paid movie star on earth to run for president he responded, “I think that it’s a real possibility.”
