Can Pepsi cure the world’s ills? According to the company, it sure can. But according to the rest of the world, Pepsi’s misguided and unrealistic viewpoint is vomitable.
Pepsi was blasted on Wednesday for releasing an ad suggesting the beverage could basically unite the country … rather, stop Black Lives Matter or Muslim ban protestors from being pepper sprayed and attacked by officials.
The commercial, starring Kendall Jenner, instantly upset folks around the country, and now, the corporation is apologizing.
An a statement released on Tuesday, the company revealed they are pulling the ad entirely. The statement also includes an apology to Jenner, who was caught in the crossfire.
The controversial spot, meanwhile, even sparked a comment from the daughter of the late Martin Luther King Jr. “If only Daddy would have known about the power of #Pepsi,” Bernice King wrote.
We share the same sentiment.
