We all remember where we were the moment news broke of Prince Rogers Nelson’s death. For me, I was sitting at my desk at work when my boss called with the shattering report. It’s hard to believe that it was one year ago that the world lost a legend.
Prince died on April 21, 2016, at the age of 57 of a reported opioid overdose. The singer was found unresponsive inside an elevator at his Paisley Park Estate in Chanhassen, Minnesota. Medical crews attempted to perform CPR, but were unable to revive the singer. Prince was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m.
Prince’s legacy will live on forever and today, in honor of the late icon’s death, dozens of celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to the man who helped shape music.
