Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are taking major strides in 2017.
For Kim, it’s returning to social media after a traumatizing robbery that resulted in shutting down for several months. And for Kanye, it appears as though the Chicago rapper is starting to deal with the death of his late mother, Donda West.
In November, West suffered a reported mental breakdown, which his team called a “temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration.” It was, however, later revealed that the rapper’s breakdown was on the anniversary of his mother’s burial.
Ye has apparently never dealt with the passing of his mother, who died in 2007 following complications from liposuction. But it seems like Kanye is starting to now grieve properly.
The rapper, who has been receiving medical help for his mental health, just took his two children, North, 3 and Saint, 1, to his mother’s grave in Oklahoma City. “Kim and Kanye visited Donda’s grave this week,” a source told Entertainment Tonight. “They also saw some of Kanye’s family in Chicago.”
The insider explained, “It is the first time North and Saint visited their grandma. It was important for Kanye to take the kids to his mother’s grave. Kanye wasn’t able to go during the anniversary because of he was on tour, and then his heath spiraled.”
“He hasn’t been able to travel to Chicago since the anniversary [of her passing], so the fact he was able to go now, and with his family, meant a lot to him,” the source added. “He was thrilled to be able to bring the kids to see his mom.”
The source also revealed that Kanye is healthy and doing well. Two months after being admitted into the UCLA Medical Center, Yeezy is “living at home with Kim and the kids. He spends his days with the kids, and plays with them all day long.”
The insider told ET, “He’s still under medical care. He’ll do everything and anything to make sure he’s in tip-top shape for his family. That’s his motivation to get out of any dark spot.”
