Drake announced on Wednesday afternoon that his Summer Sixteen Tour has been postponed due to an ankle injury.
The Canadian rapper revealed in a post that, despite being over 50 shows into the musical trek, he simply can’t push on. “I hate to be told I can’t do something, but under doctor’s orders to allow me time to recuperate, I am being forced to postpone the intense three shows in a row in cities which have only ever shown me unconditional support.”
In the announcement, published on the rapper’s website, he promised not only to “make it up” to the fans but that he will “see you all again with new music and a stronger ankle.”
Drake also made headlines today after making a surprise visit to Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. On Tuesday, the rapper “pulled up” on students, who recently started a “Bring Drake to Drake” campaign.
Drizzy showed up on campus following his performance at the Wells Fargo Arena — but it’s still unclear if students actually knew he was there.
