Today marks the 20th anniversary of Tupac Shakur’s untimely death, and in honor of the late rapper, not only are folks remembering him via social media, but fans are getting a peek at the upcoming 2Pac movie, All Eyez On Me.
In the new, near two-minute trailer, Pac, played by Demetrius Shipp, can be seen onstage talking about cops killing innocent Black folk every day; meanwhile, his mother, Afeni Shakur, played by Danai Gurira, reminds the rapper that he needs to be careful.
“Like all black leaders,” Gurira says in the clip, “You have a bullseye on your back … They are going to come after you.”
The movie, which also stars Cory Hardrict, does not have a release date.
Pac died on September 13, 1996 — six days after being shot four times in Las Vegas.
