HipHollywood was on the scene in Toronto where Pharrell Williams debuted new tracks from the upcoming film Hidden Figures starring Taraji P. Henson, Octavia Spencer and Janelle Monáe.
Williams, who is a composer for the film, gave the audience at the Toronto International Film Festival a treat with live performances of three new songs from the Hidden Figures Original Soundtrack, including “Running” and “I See Victory” featuring Kim Burrell.
Hidden Figures is the incredible untold story of Katherine Johnson (Taraji P. Henson), Dorothy Vaughn (Octavia Spencer) and Mary Jackson (Janelle Monae), brilliant African-American women working at NASA, who served as the brains behind one of the greatest operations in history: the launch of astronaut John Glenn into orbit, a stunning achievement that restored the nation’s confidence, turned around the Space Race, and galvanized the world.
The film is slated to hit theaters January 13, 2017.
