Diana Ross took to Instagram Wednesday morning to share a sweet congratulatory message to her daughter, Tracee Ellis Ross.
Ross posted a touching card dedicated to her famous daughter following her big Emmy nomination. “So proud of you,” the card read. Last month, Tracee was nominated for Lead Actress In A Comedy Series for her role on Black-ish, marking the star’s first Emmy nomination.
During a recent interview with People, the actress revealed that following the nomination announcement, the first person she called was her legendary mother. “I got up and I ran and danced weirdly around my dining room,” she said.
Tracee added, “Then I opened my front door and I don’t know where I thought I was trying to go, so I closed the door and I called my mom. She was really cute and we screamed for a little bit.”
Black-ish is a big contender this year, picking up several nominations. Ross’ co-star Anthony Anderson was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and the show garnered a nod for Outstanding Comedy Series.
The 68th Primetime Emmy Awards air live on September 18 on ABC.
